Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Regulatory Advisor to join our Kuala Lumpur team. This role will support regulatory compliance and integrity management across offshore and onshore energy assets, ensuring alignment with Malaysian and international standards.
Key responsibilities for this position:- Regulatory Compliance & Advisory:
- Ensure all regulated integrity and inspection activities comply with DOSH, OSRMS, ASME, and API standards.
- Familiarity with all Malaysian regulations requirement for client's business continuity e.g EQA 1974 (DOE), Marine Departments, Economic Exclusion Zone (EEZ) regulations, etc.
- Assist clients to formulate Regulatory Compliance Plan in ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, company's policies and other stakeholders requirement.
- Provide advisory roles to various functional groups within client's business units to ensure timely approval and permitting are obtained.
- Provide advisory roles to company management for any regulatory changes and its impact to business.
- Review and monitor overall compliance for company related business activities from exploration, project development, operation and decommissioning phases.
- Plan and execute assurance or audit activity for related company premises / activity
- Liaison & External Stakeholders:
- Act as front liner for liaising with external stakeholders including MPM Petronas, Government Agencies, State and relevant parties.
- Focal contact for the company for any regulatory bodies events, engagements, and discussions
- Engage regulatory bodies, Government Agencies, State and relevant parties on behalf of any business units within company.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Owner of the Regulatory Compliance Manual
- Maintain detailed records of assessments, incompliances, infringements, and irregularities of regulations.
- Ensure traceability and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Tracking of regulatory related audit findings.
- Training & Development:
- Plans and develop suitable regulatory trainings for the company
- Ensure internal regulatory engagements are carried out as per yearly planning
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement enhancements in regulatory compliances within company systems and operations.
Qualifications & experience required for this position:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in regulatory advisory, asset integrity, operation and maintenance roles.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian regulatory frameworks, offshore operations, and international standards.
- Proficiency in IDMS, CMMS, Projects and Operations & Maintenance philosophy.
- Knowledge in API, ASME, NDT are an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
