What you'll do:

  • Support Regulatory Compliance Head for oversight of Compliance related processes.
  • Support with day-to-day regulatory advisory, including but not limited to overseeing customer due diligence process and AML/CFT framework.
  • Identification of new/amended regulations which impacts the organisation.
  • Conduct timely Gap Assessments where there are updates from respective regulatory bodies e.g SC/BNM.
  • Liaise with respective stakeholders updating Compliance policies and processes to ensure gaps identified during gap assessments are closed whilst maintaining pragmatic application of regulatory requirements in business operation.
  • Regulatory liaison with respective regulatory bodies.
  • Support and manage regulatory inspections/examinations, where required.
  • Maintain regulatory registers, and make necessary filings with the respective regulator(s), where required.
  • Produce & file SAR/STR reports, where required.
  • Proactively identify any scenarios which may present any significant risk to the organization and set risk controls and mitigation for such risks.
  • Keep abreast to industry development as well as best practice in compliance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the Independent Audit of the AML/CFT framework

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business, Law, Economics or related fields.
  • Min. 5 years of working experience in compliance related roles with at least 3 years in the Financial and Fintech Industry.
  • Understanding of Financial Services Act (FSA) 2013 and the Money Services Business Act (MSBA) 2011 regulations and any applicable regulations in Malaysia affecting the payment, fintech, and cryptocurrency business.
  • Preference for candidates with certifications from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) or International Compliance Association (ICA). Being a Certified AML/CFT Professional (MCAP) is a huge plus in the Malaysian market.
  • Familiarity with BNM's FINNET system for STR/SAR filings and regulatory reporting.
  • Knowledge in corresponding regulations under different countries and/or jurisdictions would be a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and business partnering skills and can collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (bilingual preferred - Mandarin/English/Malay).
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • High ethical and integrity standards, self-driven, fast learning and independence are required.
