About the role
As a Relationship Manager (Financial Institutions) at Bank of China (M) Berhad, you will be responsible for managing and developing relationships with financial institution clients. This full-time, office-based role in Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Kuala Lumpur will see you play a strategic part in achieving the bank's objectives within the corporate and institutional banking sector.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with existing financial institution clients
- Identify and acquire new financial institution clients to grow the bank's portfolio
- Understand client needs and provide tailored banking solutions to meet their requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams to structure and deliver complex financial products and services
- Monitor client accounts and transactions to ensure compliance and identify opportunities
- To drive the marketing of products and services to FI clients while ensuring efficient counterparty limit management and maximization of profitability across FI deposits, loans, payment, clearing and settlement solution, cross border investment solution into China's capital market, cross-selling/collaboration on Global Market products, DCM/ECM deals referral, China & RMB related solution to FI etc.
- Ensure strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements in dealing with FI counterparties, particularly in areas relating to credit risk, AML/CFT, sanctions and reputational risk.
- Contribute to the development of the bank's financial institution strategy and growth plans
What we're looking for
- 5+ years banking experience with a minimum of 2 years of FI/Corporate/Commercial Banking relationship management with credit/loan related experience within within the banking or financial services industry
- Strong understanding of the financial institution landscape and the challenges and opportunities faced by this client segment
- Proven track record of acquiring new clients and growing existing relationships
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills to engage effectively with senior stakeholders
- Ability to identify client needs and recommend tailored solutions that drive value
- Solid commercial acumen and understanding of banking products and services
- Collaborative team player with a customer-centric approach
