Release Manager

Job Description

• Develop and implement release and deployment strategies, processes, and procedures.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases and deployments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Collaborate with development teams, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth release and deployment processes.
• Manage and maintain release calendars, ensuring alignment with business objectives and priorities.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to ensure successful releases and deployments.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including release notes, deployment guides, and process documentation.
• Provide training and support to teams on release and deployment processes and procedures.
• Monitor and report on release and deployment metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
• Coordinating schedules and resources required based on infrastructure updates, defect backlogs and third-party applications
• Facilitating meetings and discussion forums to obtain feedback and identify possible roadblocks
• Provide updates on project plans, requirements and timelines
• Solving conflicts to ensure smooth collaboration among team members
• Providing progress reports and weekly updates
• Testing the application with different parameters to ascertain its functionality
• Tracking bugs and other defects throughout the process
• Continuously monitoring the project and improving the releases whenever possible and implementing quality assurance best practices

Requirement

• Project management experience
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CD/CI) pipelines
• Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies
• Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
• Team management skills
• Knowledge of traditional agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban
• Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system
• Excellent communication skills
• Project management skills with knowledge of presentation
• Problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
