TransPerfect Connect (TPC) is looking for highly fluent, professional bilingual speakers (English <> Mandarin) to join our team as Over-the-Phone (OPI) and Video Remote Interpreters (VRI). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide consecutive interpretation services between English and Mandarin in medical, legal, customer service, and other industries
- Ensure interpretation is accurate, clear, and neutralpreserving tone, intent, and emotion
- Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality
- Manage call flow with professionalism and respect, ensuring accuracy
- Demonstrate emotional intelligence during high-pressure or sensitive interactions
- Apply memory retention and active listening techniques for longer conversations
- Stick to your role as an interpreterno personal opinions or advice
- Participate in ongoing training and coaching to enhance your skills
- Use basic computer tools (MS Office, internal platforms) to manage calls and log activity

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); college education preferred
- Fluency in English and Mandarin (proficiency or higher)
- Ability to pass a language and interpreting skills assessment
- Must provide your own equipment (computer, headset, high-speed internet) and pass a technical check to ensure compatibility with our remote platforms
- Minimum 6 months of call center, customer service, or interpreting experience
- Strong communication and ethical decision-making skills
- Ability to handle fast-paced, emotionally complex situations
- Comfortable with assertive communication and session control
- Basic computer skills (typing, MS Office)
- Quiet, distraction-free workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical, legal, or community interpreting (strong plus)
- Experience with remote work tools and platforms
