Join Maxis as a Reporting Intern and gain hands-on experience in business intelligence, cloud-based data reporting, and analytics development. In this role, you will work alongside reporting specialists, business analysts, and stakeholders to develop data-driven insights, support reporting operations, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of reporting frameworks and data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Agile Reporting Development (GCP & Power BI): Participate in Scrum-based development sprints to design, build, and deploy interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualisations using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Microsoft Power BI.
- Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Business Analysts and report stakeholders to understand business requirements, document reporting needs, and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
- Operational Job Monitoring: Monitor daily reporting operations, automated jobs, and data pipelines to ensure scheduled reporting processes run smoothly. Assist in identifying, investigating, and resolving reporting issues or anomalies.
- Change Request Assessment: Support the evaluation of user change requests by analysing the technical impact on existing reports, assessing feasibility, and assisting with implementation planning.
- Quality Assurance & Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, data models, and reporting specifications while conducting quality assurance testing to ensure dashboards and reports meet business requirements before release.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Familiarity with GCP services, particularly BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Storage.
- Business Intelligence & Reporting: Experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar business intelligence and data visualisation tools.
- Data Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of data pipeline architecture, data integration processes, and batch or streaming data processing concepts.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyse data, identify issues, and develop effective solutions.
- Agile Mindset: Interest in Agile and Scrum methodologies, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced development environment.
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
