Summary of major duties:
Project Support
- Weigh and batch ingredients for bench-top and pilot plant runs
- Prepare bench-top formulations of new product innovations
- Support pilot plan trials and prototype production including set-up and clean-up
- Coordinate procurement, receipt, and storage of ingredients
- Coordinate shelf-life testing studies
- Input lot tracking information
- Perform basic analytical tests
Equipment Operation
- Learn and operate a variety of standard testing and process equipment.
- Ensure timely calibaration of lab instruments
Lab Maintenance
- Maintain inventory of supplies and restock as necessary.
- Ensure that needed lab equipment is available and functional.
- Maintain clean and orderly lab area.
- Procure basic ingredients as needed
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- GED or High School Diploma required with 0-2 years related experience.
- Experience in food processing is preferred.
- Good mathematical skills
- Basic understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel
- Comfortable operating lab, pilot plant and small production equipment
- Capable of working in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with dynamic priorities
- Demonstrated ability of a basic working technical knowledge
- Attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent Organizational skills
