Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and research-driven Research Associate to support the delivery of key research and policy initiatives. This role involves close collaboration with project leaders on quantitative analysis, large-scale data interpretation, and the development of research outputs that inform strategic and policy-related decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project leads in conceptualising, developing, and executing research and policy-related projects
- Conduct quantitative and econometric analysis on large-scale datasets to generate actionable insights
- Develop and contribute to research reports, policy papers, and other written deliverables
- Assist in the design, planning, and management of research projects
- Support stakeholder engagement activities, including workshops, meetings, webinars, and briefings
- Coordinate project logistics, documentation, and administrative tasks (including minute-taking where required)
- Provide guidance to interns or junior team members when needed
- Collaborate across teams and provide support on cross-functional initiatives as required
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Econometrics, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or related disciplines
- Additional qualifications, such as a PhD, are also advantageous.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, or project management
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, including experience in econometric or statistical analysis
- Proficiency in analytical tools such as R, STATA, SPSS, or EViews
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight timeline
Preferred Experience
- Experience working in interdisciplinary research environments
- Demonstrated track record of publishing research outputs, including journal articles, industry reports, white papers, or policy briefs
- Familiarity with applying multiple research methodologies, particularly quantitative approaches, to deliver rigorous and well-rounded analyses
- Understanding of social science research frameworks and methodologies
