We Are Looking For:
As the Resident Engineer (Civil & Structural), you will report to the Project Manager and play a key role in managing and overseeing all civil and structural engineering works on-site. You will act as the subject matter expert for civil & structural construction activities, ensuring works are executed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with design specifications and authority requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee civil & structural construction works on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and standards
- Review and coordinate structural and civil engineering designs, drawings, and technical submissions
- Monitor site progress, workmanship, and quality of structural and civil works to meet project timelines
- Coordinate and liaise with consultants, subcontractors, and other disciplines (e.g., M&E, architectural) on technical matters and site execution
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with authority approvals, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Manage and track inspections, testing (e.g., concrete, rebar, load tests), and commissioning activities
- Support preparation and submission of technical reports, method statements, shop drawings, and as-built documentation
- Attend and lead site meetings, technical discussions, and coordination meetings with stakeholders
- Ensure proper documentation control and compliance with ISO and project quality standards
- Identify and resolve site issues, design discrepancies, and coordination conflicts in a timely manner
- Support project delivery including handover, inspections, and final acceptance
Qualities You Should Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in mission-critical or data centre projects
- Strong experience in site supervision or Resident Engineer role for civil & structural works
- Proven track record in delivering projects within schedule and quality standards
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and authorities
- Familiar with construction practices, codes, and quality standards for structural and civil works
- Experience in testing & commissioning, including IST (Integrated System Testing) is an advantage
- Prior exposure to hyperscale data centre projects is highly preferred
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills
