We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Resident Medical Officer to join our dynamic Intensive Care Unit team. You will be responsible for managing critically ill neonates, pediatric, and adult patients in the ICU, and other inpatient areas. You will work closely with consultants to provide timely interventions, including procedures and emergency care when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee care of post-operative and emergency patients in ICU and wards.
- Support consultants by managing unstable patients and performing procedures (e.g., catheterization, NGT insertion).
- Attend to verbal orders, code blue, sedation, and diagnostic needs promptly.
- Conduct assessments, implement treatment plans, and assist in emergency resuscitation.
- Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist in identifying patients suitable for transfer from ICU during full occupancy.
- Communicate with patient families when requested by the treating physician.
- Comply with hospital SOPs, health and safety standards, and infection control policies.
- Support hospital activities such as medical talks, check-ups, and donation drives.
- Participate in accreditation and regulatory activities; support development of critical care protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a Anaesthesiology and/or ICU/critical care.
- Valid registration with the Malaysia Medical Council and completed of housemanship.
- Strong knowledge of critical care, resuscitation techniques, and treatment protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Able to work rotating shifts including nights and weekends.
