Job Overview
We are looking for Resident Programmers to provide on-site application development, maintenance, technical support and programming services for government digital applications.
The successful candidates will be responsible for application maintenance, source code updates, troubleshooting, system enhancement, testing, documentation and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform application maintenance, troubleshooting, bug fixing and technical support.
- Develop, modify and update application source codes based on system requirements.
- Perform preventive, corrective, perfective and adaptive maintenance.
- Troubleshoot application errors, bugs, defects and operational issues.
- Perform application enhancement and optimisation to improve system performance and usability.
- Ensure applications remain compatible with changes in technology, platforms, operating systems and third-party software.
- Conduct application testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare technical and maintenance documentation.
- Provide technical support for applications using AWS Transcribe and OpenAI.
- Conduct user training and system demonstrations when required.
- Monitor and follow up on unresolved and critical application issues.
- Attend technical/project meetings and provide maintenance and issue status updates.
- Support other application-related technical activities as required.
Mandatory Compliance
Candidates must meet ALL of the following requirements:
- Malaysian citizen.
- Minimum Diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Application Development or other relevant fields.
- Minimum 5 years of programming experience, excluding internship/industrial training.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Content Management Systems (CMS) such as Drupal, WordPress, Joomla, Liferay, KOHA, Statamic or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB or MSSQL.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mobile application frameworks, specifically Ionic and Flutter.
- Good experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using technologies such as PHP, Python, Java and/or JavaScript.
- Candidates must be willing to work on-site at Jalan Sultan Salahuddin, Kuala Lumpur.
- Candidate must be willing to participate in the required screening, programming assessment and interview process.
- Candidate must be willing to share an updated resume and supporting documents for tender submission.
