About the role
We are seeking a Retail Associate – Fashion & Lifestyle to join our team at Gama Retail Trading Sdn Bhd in the West Region. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our retail operations, delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to the overall success of our fashion and lifestyle retail environment. As a Retail Associate, you will play a crucial role in creating an engaging shopping experience, driving sales and building lasting customer relationships that reflect our commitment to excellence in the retail sector.
What you'll be doing
- Greeting customers with enthusiasm and providing expert assistance in selecting fashion and lifestyle products that meet their needs
- Processing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Maintaining visual merchandising standards by arranging and restocking products to ensure the store displays are attractive and well-organised
- Building product knowledge to confidently answer customer enquiries and make recommendations that enhance their shopping experience
- Assisting with inventory management, including receiving stock, conducting stocktakes and managing product labelling
- Creating a welcoming store atmosphere by maintaining cleanliness and organisation standards throughout the retail space
- Supporting promotional activities and seasonal campaigns to maximise sales opportunities
- Working collaboratively with team members to achieve sales targets and deliver consistent, high-quality customer service
- Handling customer complaints professionally and resolving issues in a manner that maintains customer satisfaction
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in retail or customer service, with a demonstrated track record of delivering excellent customer care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Enthusiasm for fashion and lifestyle products, with the ability to stay informed about current trends and seasonal collections
- Numeracy skills and comfort with handling cash and processing transactions accurately
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, as required by retail operations
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and to lift and move stock as necessary
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take initiative in the retail environment
- Team player mentality with the ability to work effectively alongside colleagues to achieve shared objectives
- Preferred: Experience in fashion retail or knowledge of current fashion trends and lifestyle products
- Preferred: Familiarity with retail management systems and visual merchandising principles
