Overview

Key Accountabilities

1. Objective

a) The overall objective of this position is to ensure the production of professional and timely reports that meet our clients demands and expectations in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Greater China region and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region as contracted, and to do this in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

2. Operations

a) Identify, research, write and reports for Clients on subjects concerning risk and security in Hong Kong, Taiwan and the Greater China region to include a focus on:

Protests, their aims, locations, numbers and impacts;

Police responses and actions and those of other authorities;

International media

Send reports to Clients hourly through the day or as scheduled;

Responding to client enquiries as required

b) Preparation, editing and transmission of weekly reports on Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China as well as ad hoc reports as needed;

c) Verbal updates and briefings with HK Country Manager, Client Contract Manager, Risk Intelligence service line leader and / or other H&A consultants as requested;

d) Monitor Hong Kong, Chinese and international news and social media platforms so as to be ready to update clients as directed. This is particularly needed at times of crisis when H&A have to respond to multiple client requests for updates. During such periods, non-standard working hours may be required, including early morning starts.

e) Support production of briefing papers and other materials as requested by Country Manager, Client Contract Manager Risk Intelligence service line leader and / or other H&A consultants as requested;

f) Update and maintain content on the H&A Messaging apps, including reports, updates and alert;.

g) Attend meetings (online and in-person) as directed.

3. Personnel Development

You will be:

Kept motivated and continue to improve your skills via appropriate training courses (internal and external) if possible (as this is a short term assignment);

Qualifications

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional with:

Experience of writing and editing high-quality pieces in English

Fluency in both Cantonese or Mandarin and English

Well-developed research and Internet skills

Able to use and monitor social media networks and platforms

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

A strong and dedicated work ethic and an eagerness to learn

A self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and on an individual basis

Analysis, Security or Journalism and editorial background is a plus.
