our client is a global financial services client specializing in asset servicing are seeking a Risk Manager, Accounting & Reporting Services, PERES Operations to be based in Putrajaya, Malaysia and supporting the Luxembourg region. The client operates a centre of excellence delivering services such as Custody & Cash Clearing, Fund Administration, Fund Distribution, Master Data Services, Market Solutions, Group Invoicing, Reconciliations and Private Equity & Real Estate Solutions for institutional clients across Europe. In this role, you will work closely with Risk Management, Operational Control and other functional stakeholders to ensure proper control and governance of Accounting & Reporting processes.
Supporting region : Luxembourg
Working Hours : 9:00am-6:00pm (Malaysia time)

What You Will Do
- Support the Department in the RCSA process to ensure proper governance and monitoring, including completeness and accuracy of risks identified and documentation of risk acceptance.
- Establish a review plan and perform regular control testing and daily checks on High Value Items (or High Risk items, if applicable) to assess effectiveness of controls implemented and identify gaps.
- Perform in-depth root cause analysis on control issues and propose targeted robust mitigation plans that address identified weaknesses and strengthen the overall control framework.
- Track and report to management on KRI in a timely manner to provide early warning signals and escalate areas of concern to relevant stakeholders.
- Address areas of concern with process owners by defining appropriate Risk Mitigation Plans and enhancing existing controls where required to reduce residual risk.
- Perform process review on an ongoing basis to support continuous quality and productivity improvement across workflow, process and procedure in Accounting & Reporting.
- Ensure the change control framework is adhered to for all changes in BAU and new processes, assessing risk exposure identification and business impact comprehensively.
- Conduct assessments to ensure mitigating controls are effective in addressing all risks identified during change initiatives and operational reviews.
- Assist the HOD in managing reviews performed by Operational Control, Risk Management, Internal/External Audit, Compliance and others, and lead engagement with stakeholders as needed.
- Monitor all issues raised by assurance functions to ensure there is no slippage on open action plans and that remediation is completed within agreed timelines.
- Produce high-quality MI reporting using data analytics, including identifying strategic problems, analyzing data and providing insights for process and controls improvements.
- Take an active role in regular management/control calls to ensure risks identified and control issues are appropriately escalated, investigated and resolved on a timely basis.
Your Skills
- Good knowledge about Fund industry, Products and Financial Markets in general especially in Private Equity and Real Estate, enabling informed assessment of related operational risks.
- Good combination of technical knowledge on the market practice for Transactions & Market Settlement (Custody) and Transfer Agency in order to understand end-to-end process risks.
- Relevant operational knowledge and experience in risk management (5+ years) with proven exposure to control design, implementation, testing and remediation activities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to use initiative and excellent attention to detail when documenting risks, controls and action plans.
- Good interpersonal skills and networking abilities with internal departments and ability to work as part of a team to achieve collective goals in a control-focused environment.
- Good organisation skills and ability to prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines while managing multiple risk reviews and control testing activities.
- Macro/ VBA / Coding skills will be an advantage for automating reporting, enhancing data analytics and supporting more efficient control monitoring.
- Fund Accounting system knowledge desirable to understand data flows, booking logic and potential sources of operational and reporting risk.
- Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to prepare MI reporting, perform data analytics and document risk management deliverables effectively.
