Position Overview:
The role of a Solar PV Rooftop Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manager is crucial in ensuring the efficient and reliable performance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installed on rooftops around Malaysia and overseeing the APAC Region. Their duties revolve around the effective management and upkeep of rooftop solar installations, demanding a hands-on approach that necessitates frequent travel and on-site engagement. Their responsibilities typically encompass a range of tasks related to the operation and maintenance of these systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
System Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
Regularly monitor the performance of rooftop solar PV systems.
Analyze performance data to identify and rectify issues affecting system efficiency.
Optimize system performance to maximize energy production.
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule.
Perform routine inspections of the PV system components, including solar panels, inverters,
mounting structures, and wiring.
Clean and maintain solar panels to ensure optimal energy capture.
Corrective Maintenance:
Identify and troubleshoot issues in the solar PV system.
Coordinate and carry out necessary repairs or replacements of faulty components.
Keep records of corrective maintenance activities.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all safety protocols and regulations are followed during O&M activities.
Stay up to date with local, state, and federal regulations related to solar PV systems.
Implement safety training for O&M personnel.
Inventory Management:
Maintain an inventory of spare parts and necessary equipment for maintenance and repairs.
Ensure that spare parts are available when needed for quick response to issues.
Budget and Cost Control:
Develop and manage the O&M budget for the rooftop solar PV systems.
Seek cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs without compromising system
reliability.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Compile and analyze data related to system performance, maintenance, and energy
production.
Generate regular reports for stakeholders, including system owners and management.
Vendor and Contractor Management:
Collaborate with and oversee contractors and vendors involved in system maintenance.
Ensure contractors follow safety and quality standards.
Warranty Management:
Keep track of equipment warranties and ensure timely warranty claims.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and suppliers for replacements under warranty.
Energy Output and Revenue Tracking:
Monitor the energy production and performance analysis of the rooftop PV system.
Report on the performance analysis of the system.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain comprehensive records of all O&M activities, including maintenance schedules,
inspection reports, and equipment documentation.
Environmental and Sustainability Initiatives:
Explore opportunities to enhance the sustainability of the solar PV system, such as recycling
initiatives or energy storage integration.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:
Maintain open communication with system owners, stakeholders, and relevant authorities.
Provide regular updates on the status of the PV system and any issues or improvements.
Training and Team Management:
Train and manage O&M personnel to ensure they are skilled and equipped to perform their
tasks effectively and safely.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay informed about the latest advancements in solar PV technology and O&M best
practices.
Seek opportunities to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs.
Qualifications:
Academic degree in engineering (Preferably in Electrical or Electronic [control & instrumentation])
Fluent in English, and Malay (Written & Verbal), able to communicate in mandarine is a plus point
High level of computer literacy & and competency in Google Workspace - Sheets, Docs & Slides (or Microsoft equivalent)
At least Five years of relevant work experience - Team lead or Manager

Manage the selection, hiring, and supervision of roofing contractors to ensure quality repairs and adherence to safety standards.
Recommend long-term solutions for roof maintenance to extend the life of the roof and ensure the continued performance of the solar PV system.
