Job Description
This role manages sacred music, temple, and scripture translation projects, bridging Headquarters and Area teams. It coordinates multilingual translators, aligns resources, and leverages project management tools to ensure efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective delivery of sacred materials worldwide while supporting linguists and supervisors in building capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with language offices to determine resource availability for sacred music, as well as for other scripture and temple translation and production translation projects.
- Makes location and travel arrangements for music teams in multiple areas.
- Assists sacred materials linguists with job assignments, job tracking, and resource management.
- Uses standard processes to ensure the timely completion of projects, including managing communication, project expectations, and payment with translation team members.
- Creates and administers surveys for Sacred Materials projects. Typically coordinates sensitive, confidential, high-profile projects.
- Travels as needed to assist with project and resource needs.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sacred Materials Coordination Team Lead or the Area Translation Manager.
Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (business, linguistics, translation, or related field) or equivalent; 8+ years in translation and 3+ years in project management.
- Language Proficiency: Mastery of English and at least one other language, including grammar, vocabulary, and syntax.
- Cultural Knowledge: Broad understanding of history, culture, localization, and global context.
- Core Skills: Strong project/time management, communication, coaching, problem-solving, and ability to work under pressure.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in translation/business tools, CAT tools, Office 365, and basic technical support.
- Church Knowledge: Familiarity with Church doctrine, policies, and ecclesiastical organization.
- Additional Expertise: Knowledge of word processing, graphic production, and language recording best practices.
