Safety Engineer

HQ based in KL but will be seconded to

Papua New Guinea and or Solomon Islands

Starting Salary Range USD2500 ++

Paid annual leave and public holidays

Round trip air tickets to Malaysia are provided every 6 months upon completion of the contract period

Transportation provided at the project site and upon onboarding and departure

Contract period is 1-2 years and renewable upon expiration

Bachelor Degree in Health Safety and Environmental Related Studies

Minimum 2 years of relevant safety and project management field experience

Must be familiar with internationally recognized HSE, management standards and procedures

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Safety Engineer, located in Papua New Guinea and Solomon Island. The Safety Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures, ensuring occupational health and safety standards are met, conducting safety training sessions, monitoring construction safety, and coordinating security measures. The Safety Engineer will work closely with project managers and other team members to ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience and skills in Safety Engineering and Construction Safety
• Bachelor Degree in Health Safety and Environmental Related Studies
• Minimum 2 years of relevant safety and project management field experience
• Must be familiar with internationally recognized HSE, management standards and procedures
• Proficiency in Occupational Health and Security protocols
• Ability to conduct effective safety Training sessions
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional certification in Safety Engineering is a plus
• Relevant experience in the construction or engineering industries
• Fluent in English and able to communicate effectively as a working language. Basic Chinese communication skills are preferred
• Strong team spirit, adaptability and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure
