Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced Safety, Health & Environment Executive to support the whole company's OSH initiative and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce safety activities and programs as required by the management.
- To promote awareness, advise and coordinate Zoomlion Heavy Industry (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd's employers & employees on OSH & environmental issues.
- Identify and assess risks related to business processes, safety, health and the environment.
- Maintain and update registers of business processes, safety, health, environment, legal and other requirements.
- To perform frequent inspections of the plant, all machinery, equipment, substances, appliances, processes and any manual labour utilized in the workplace to ensure that they are safe and not liable by nature to cause bodily harm or injury to any employee working in the premises.
- Investigate accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisonings, or diseases at the project site, report to DOSH, and submit yearly reports in compliance with the NADOBOD regulation.
- Collect, maintain, and analyse safety-related statistics and incident records.
- Prepare and submit weekly update, monthly safety & health reports, including man-hours worked, accident frequency rates, severity rates, and safety program updates.
- To liaise with the relevant authorities (DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, PBT, KKM) regarding issue related to safety, health, and the environment.
- Issue Permit to Work, environmental instructions, safety or health directives, and penalties for non-compliance.
- To ensure that the Safety & Health Committee meeting are conducted periodically to address and redress safety and health matters in the Company.
- Implement and control waste management (general solid waste, recycling waste, scheduled waste), with particular emphasis on the handling, organization, and disposal of scheduled waste under Environmental Act 2024.
- Handle security management: Monitor night patrols, security arrangements, awareness, checking of log book for visitors, lorry entries, cleaners entries for all branches.
- Support office administrative team on office safety related matters, such as hostel inspection.
- Perform any additional duties from time to time.
What we're looking for
- Occupational Safety Health Coordinator certificate (OSHC) or Safety and Health Officer (SHO) – Mandatory requirement.
- Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) certificate - Mandatory requirement.
- Registered Safety Officer with DOSH (Green Book Holder) - Added advantage.
- Diploma or Degree in Safety and Health or Environment
- Strong knowledge of relevant Malaysian safety legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy machinery or project-site safety management.
- Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently.
