Safety Officer / EHS Officer

We are looking for an experienced Safety Officer / EHS Officer to support Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) operations in a fast-growing lithium-ion battery manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead safety implementation during project setup, construction, and production phases

• Support hazard identification, risk assessment, environmental factor evaluation, and corrective actions

• Ensure compliance with Malaysian EHS laws, fire safety, environmental standards, and company safety policies

• Conduct safety inspections, audits, incident prevention, and stop unsafe acts or conditions

• Develop and execute EHS training programs, safety induction, and refresher training for employees and contractors

• Ensure suppliers, contractors, and visitors comply with company EHS requirements

• Maintain EHS documentation, training records, inspection reports, and compliance records

• Participate in monthly EHS meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental, Fire, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or related field

• Must possess DOSH Green Book certification

• Minimum 3 years of EHS / safety experience in manufacturing; construction project safety experience is a plus

• Familiar with Malaysian safety, environmental, and fire regulations

• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, CePSWaM, or related certifications is an advantage

• Strong risk assessment, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills

• Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Mandarin / Chinese speaking is required to communicate with Chinese-speaking stakeholders
