Safety Officer (Food Ingredients Manufacturing)

Location: Klang, Selangor

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Safety Officer to join our team and ensure a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all occupational safety and health regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with preventive measures.
  • Organize and conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees.
  • Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Coordinate emergency response preparedness, fire drills, and evacuation exercises.
  • Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
  • Support food safety initiatives by ensuring safe work practices are aligned with GMP and HACCP requirements.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and assist during external audits and inspections.
  • Track safety performance indicators and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
  • Registered Safety and Health Officer (SHO) with DOSH/JKKP is preferred.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in food, food ingredients, or FMCG industries.
  • Good knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk assessment, incident investigation, and emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000 is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
