The Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) assists the Project Engineer and Project Manager in ensuring that daily project activities are carried out in compliance with the companys HSE policies, client-specific HSE requirements, and local authority guidelines. The SSS is responsible for monitoring site safety, promoting a safe working environment, and ensuring adherence to all safety regulations throughout the project.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily project /site activities with Project Managers (mandatory) but reports directly to the Operations & IMS Manager for all matters related to safety compliance, documentation and IMS requirements.
- Ensure full compliance with the companys HSE and IMS requirements, particularly ISO 45001.
- Oversee the implementation of site safety measures and risk controls as per documented SOPs and IMS procedures.
- Act as the primary liaison for all safety inspections and audits by clients and regulatory bodies (e.g. DOSH/JKKP).
- Monitor validity of CP (Competent Person) certifications and site personnel safety documents.
- Maintain accurate safety logs, reports, permits, and training records. . Job Duties:
- Conduct daily site inspections to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of HSE documentation to clients and authorities (e.g. PTW, JKKP).
- Attend all PTI (Pre-Task Inspection) and PTO (Post-Task Observation) with CPs and JKKP officers.
- Record, track, and investigate near-misses, accidents, and safety incidents.
- Promote a safety-first culture through regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Coordinate and monitor safety training programs and renewals of required certifications.
- Communicate with clients&apos HSE teams and local authorities on all site safety matters.
- Ensure IMS safety documentation (e.g. SOPs, records, reports) are filed, updated, and accessible for audit.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline. Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline is an advantage.
- Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Certificate registered with DOSH.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 standards and IMS documentation.
- Good understanding of risk control, incident investigation, and safety audit processes.
- Familiarity with statutory requirements and PTW systems .
