Job Description

Position Overview

responsible for driving a strong safety culture and advancing the organization's sustainability agenda. This role ensures compliance with health, safety, security and environmental (HSSE) standards, embeds sustainability practices across operations and people processes, and partners closely with HR and leadership to promote a safe, responsible, and sustainable workplace.

Key Responsibilities

  • HSSE LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSSE policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Oversee incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Champion leadership accountability for safety and wellbeing across all levels of the organization.
  • Drive proactive risk identification, hazard assessment, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & RISK MANAGEMENT
  • Ensure full and ongoing compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, EQA 1974, and all applicable DOSH (JKKP) and DOE requirements.
  • Oversee HSSE risk management frameworks including HIRARC, CHRA, EIA-related controls, and environmental risk assessments.
  • Review and endorse incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans.
  • Ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and engagement with regulatory authorities.
  • TRAINING, GOVERNANCE & COMPETENCY
  • Oversee governance of HSSE training programmed, including:
  • Mandatory safety and compliance training
  • Competency requirements for safety-critical roles
  • Emergency Response Team (ERT) development and readiness
  • Monitor training effectiveness and ensure certification and competency records are maintained.
  • SUSTAINABILITY & ESG
  • Develop and execute sustainability initiatives aligned with company strategy, ESG goals, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead environmental initiatives including waste management, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and responsible resource use.
  • Coordinate sustainability data collection, reporting, and ESG disclosures.
  • Support sustainability audits, certifications, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • PEOPLE, CULTURE & HR COLLABORATION
  • Partner with HR to integrate safety and sustainability into onboarding, leadership development, performance expectations, and culture initiatives.
  • Embed safety, wellbeing, and sustainability into leadership behaviors and employee engagement programmed.
  • Support wellbeing initiatives related to physical safety, mental health, and safe working practices.
  • ESG REPORTING & SUSTAINABILITY DATA GOVERNANCE
  • Own and govern the HSSE & Environmental components of ESG reporting
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and auditable ESG data collection, validation, and submission in line with Group reporting frameworks (e.g. Sustainability Report).
  • Monitor and report key ESG indicators, including:
  • Safety performance & Report (LTIFR, TRIR, near-miss trends)
  • Regulatory and ISO compliance status
  • Environmental performance (waste, energy, water, emissions where applicable)
  • Identify ESG risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities, and present recommendations to management.
  • Support external ESG assessments, audits, verifications, and stakeholder inquiries.

Required Qualifications

  • Green Book Holder – Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (JKKP) (mandatory).
  • Degree / Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in safety, sustainability, or HSSE functions, including exposure to leadership or managerial responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, FMA, EQA, DOSH/DOE requirements, and ISO standards.
  • Experience in ISO 95001, ISO 14001, sustainability initiatives, and ESG reporting.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and strategic communication skills.
  • Ability to influence senior leaders and drive HSSE and sustainability accountability across functions.
