JOB SUMMARY
The Sales Designer is a sales-driven role responsible for generating revenue by engaging clients and converting leads into confirmed interior projects. This role combines basic design understanding with strong sales ability to guide clients in selecting suitable design solutions based on their functional needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget.
The employee is responsible for managing the sales process from lead generation to project handover, including client coordination and ensuring overall client satisfaction.
This role is not a technical design role. Detailed design, drawings, and execution will be handled by the design and project team. The role also includes supporting marketing efforts through content planning and sales-driven campaigns.
This role is required to achieve monthly sales targets and directly contribute to company revenue.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Client Consultation & Sales
· Attend to walk-in clients, online enquiries, and leads professionally.
· Understand client requirements, lifestyle needs, and budget.
· Present suitable design ideas and guide clients toward decision-making.
· Manage sales pipeline from inquiry to closing.
· Maintain strong follow-up to improve conversion rate.
2. Design Support(Sales-Oriented)
· Provide basic conceptual direction including space planning ideas and overall design approach.
· Prepare simple moodboards, references, and visual direction for presentation purposes.
· Assist client understanding of design options based on design team input, without making final
technical or material specifications.
3. Sales, Quotation & Closing
· Manage client engagement and guide clients through the sales process from initial inquiry to
deal closing.
· Coordinate with the design team for preparation of design proposals and project details.
· Arrange and attend client presentations together with the design team when required.
· Support and lead client presentation sessions to ensure clear communication and drive sales
conversion.
· Present pricing and proposal in a clear and professional manner with support from the design and
internal teams.
· Negotiate and close deals to achieve individual and team sales targets.
· Final design shall be prepared by the design team.
· Project costing and pricing shall be prepared or verified by the relevant internal departments
(including finance/accounts where applicable) and are subject to management approval.
· The Sales Designer is not authorised to finalise or commit to any design or pricing without internal
verification and approval.
4. Business Development
· Generate new leads through active outreach and networking.
· Conduct site visits and client meetings when required.
· Build and maintain long-term client relationships.
5. Project Management
· Coordinate with design operations, and installation teams.
· Ensure smooth handover and communication between client and internal team.
· Monitor project progress from a client servicing and communication perspective only.
· This role is responsible for coordination and client management only, not technical project
execution.
6. Marketing & Content Planning
· Develop and propose sales-driven marketing ideas and campaign directions to support lead
generation and conversion.
· Prepare content calendar and content brief for graphic designer to execute artwork and postings.
· All marketing content and activities must be strictly aligned with company sales objectives,
promotions, and campaigns to maximise lead generation and conversion performance.
· Work closely with internal team to improve brand visibility and lead conversion through digital
platforms.
7. Reporting Excellence
· Provide weekly sales and pipeline reports, including leads, follow-ups, and conversion status.
· Maintain accurate records of client interactions and project status.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related
field.
· At least 2 years of proven sales experience (ID/event industry preferred) (Fresh graduates with
strong design understanding may be considered)
· Basic knowledge of design software (e.g. AutoCAD, Sketchup) for viewing and understanding
drawings (Advanced proficiency is not required).
· Ability to read technical drawings and understand renovation workflow.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong sales mindset with ability to convert leads into confirmed projects.
· Ability to think strategically in sales and basic marketing execution.
· Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
· Must possess own transport and be willing to travel for site visits and work on weekends.
