The Sales Engineer Irrigation (Agriculture) is responsible for driving sales and supporting the technical delivery of agricultural irrigation projects. This role focuses on developing new business opportunities, managing a healthy project pipeline, and promoting complete irrigation solutions, including pumps, sprinklers, fertigation units, aerators, and control systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities in the agricultural irrigation sector.
- Provide technical support, system design, and consultation for irrigation projects, including layout planning and product selection.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to understand operational requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
- Prepare and present accurate quotations, proposals, and tenders with complete technical and commercial details.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and presentations to negotiation and closing.
- Collaborate with internal teams (logistics, purchasing, and business support) and external partners to ensure smooth project execution and effective after-sales service.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to strengthen market presence.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging irrigation technologies.
- Maintain updated CRM (C4C) records, track project pipelines, and achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Agrotechnology, Plant Biotechnology, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in sales or technical roles related to agriculture, irrigation, or water management systems.
- Proven experience in managing agricultural or plantation-based projects is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation system design (e.g., drip, sprinkler, micro, pivot systems), pumping systems, filtration units, fertigation, and automation controls.
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Commercially driven with a strong sense of customer service and relationship building.
- Basic understanding of agronomy and crop water requirements is advantageous.
