Sales Engineer - Oil and Gas
Location: KL, Malaysia
Position Type: Full-Time, Site-Based
Main Duty
• Develop new business within Oil & Gas and industrial sectors.
• Manage client relationships and expand existing accounts.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and support tender submissions.
• Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.
Scope of Work
• Cover business development and sales activities within the Oil & Gas and industrial sectors.
• Engage with clients, EPC contractors, and project stakeholders to secure new business and maintain existing accounts.
• Handle tender processes, commercial proposals, and client quotations.
• Coordinate internally with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, and Finance teams to support project execution.
• Monitor market trends, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to strategic sales planning.
• Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and technical seminars to strengthen brand visibility.
Authority
• Approve client follow-ups, site visits, and initial sales proposals.
• Negotiate commercial terms within pre-defined limits (e.g., discount thresholds, payment terms).
• Recommend pricing and tender submissions to General Manager for final approval.
• Represent the company in client meetings, technical discussions, and tender clarifications.
• Escalate contract approvals, high-value deals, or non-standard terms to General Manager.
• Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in:
o Oil & Gas (Upstream / Midstream / Downstream)
o Industrial equipment / services
o Project-based environments
• Experience dealing with Oil & Gas operators and
contractors such as:
o PETRONAS
o Shell
o ExxonMobil
• Familiar with tender processes and commercial negotiations.
