Job Summary
The Sales Engineer will assist in managing the sales process from lead generation through project handover while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Key Responsiblities
Technical Sales Support
- Conduct site visits and technical assessments to evaluate project feasibility.
- Analyze electricity consumption and recommend suitable Solar PV solutions.
- Prepare preliminary system sizing, energy yield estimations, and financial analyses (ROI, payback period, electricity savings).
- Explain technical concepts and system performance to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and presentations.
- Ensure proposals comply with customer specifications and company standards.
- Ensure smooth handover of awarded projects to the Project Management team.
Business Development Support
- Assist the Business Development Manager in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities for Solar PV projects.
- Support lead generation activities through networking, referrals, industry events, market research, and direct customer engagement.
- Participate in client meetings and site visits to understand customer energy requirements and business objectives.
- Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, consultants, developers, contractors, and business partners.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely submission of proposals and smooth project handover after contract award.
Requirements
- Candidate must possess at least a Degree in M&E Engineering or equivalent
- At least 2 – 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in solar PV, electrical or M&E industries
- Good understanding of Solar PV systems and electrical fundamentals (solar inverters, mounting systems, batteries, and energy storage systems)
- Deep understanding of Malaysia's renewable energy frameworks, eg Solar ATAP, SELCO, CRESS, green tax incentives etc
