Sales Manager – Data Center Vertical | Malaysia (Remote)
On behalf of a fast-growing water technology company at the forefront of industrial wastewater treatment and reuse, we are seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Manager to spearhead expansion into Malaysia's booming data center sector.
The Opportunity
Malaysia's data center boom has placed water management squarely on the boardroom agenda: cooling demands are immense, and environmental regulation is tightening fast. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a market from scratch, representing a category-defining technology to an industry actively searching for smarter, faster, more sustainable water infrastructure. You will work remotely as the commercial face of the business in Malaysia, identifying and closing high-value opportunities with hyperscale and co-location operators, developers, and their engineering partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Map and build a strong pipeline across the data center value chain in Malaysia, engaging Facility Directors, Sustainability/ESG leads, Procurement Managers, and EPC consultants
- Pitch and position modular water reclamation hardware and the AI software control layer as the go-to solution for cooling tower blowdown treatment, water recycling, and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)
- Own the full sales cycle end to end — prospecting, technical-commercial consultation, proposal development, negotiation, and close
- Build strategic relationships with regional engineering firms, contractors, and water authorities to establish the company as preferred vendor for rapid-deploy water infrastructure
- Track Malaysia's evolving regulatory landscape and competitor activity to keep go-to-market strategy sharp
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree
- 5–8 years of B2B technical sales experience in industrial water treatment, wastewater management, industrial cooling systems, or complex critical infrastructure
- An existing, active network within Malaysia's data center industry (hyperscalers, co-location operators, Tier-1 contractors or consultants) is a strong advantage
- Demonstrated record of closing high-value capex or long-term opex contracts
- Strong communication, negotiation, and C-suite presentation skills
- Native or professional fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is a plus for regional stakeholder engagement
- Self-motivated and comfortable operating autonomously in a fully remote role, with the energy to maintain a high pace of client engagement and field travel
