Role Objective

The Sales Manager will lead the business development and account management efforts for the Southern Region. The primary focus is to drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new manufacturing and FMCG clients while managing existing high-value accounts. You will be responsible for providing technical packaging solutions that meet client requirements for durability, sustainability, and cost-efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Proactively identify and secure new business opportunities within the FMCG, Electronics, Food & Beverage, and Industrial sectors in the Southern Region.

  • Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention, and account growth.

  • Consultative Selling: Work closely with clients to understand their packaging needs (e.g., RSC cartons, die-cut trays, POP displays) and provide technical advice on paper weights, material grades, and structural designs.

  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and raw material price fluctuations (paper/pulp) to adjust sales strategies and maintain competitive pricing.

  • Collaboration: Coordinate with the Production, R&D, and Quality Assurance teams in the Senai plant to ensure that custom-designed samples and bulk orders meet client specifications and delivery timelines.

  • Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare annual sales plans and monthly performance reports. Manage the full sales pipeline from lead generation and quotation to negotiation and final delivery.

  • Financial Stewardship: Manage credit control and ensure timely collection of payments from customers to maintain healthy cash flow.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: At least 3-5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably within the corrugated carton, paper manufacturing, or industrial packaging industry.

  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the manufacturing process of corrugated fiberboard, printing techniques, and structural design is highly advantageous.

  • Network: An existing network of contacts among manufacturers and logistics providers in the Johor region.

  • Skills: Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Must be proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin is a plus for dealing with certain local/regional stakeholders).

  • Mobility: Possess own transport and be willing to travel within the Southern Region.
