Role Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales performance and execution strategy within the Pain and Cardiovascular therapeutic areas. The role ensures achievement of sales targets, effective territory management and strong engagement with healthcare professionals to drive business growth and improve patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

Therapeutic Area Strategy Execution

  • Drive promotion of products within Pain and Cardiovascular (CV) portfolios.
  • Execute brand strategies aligned with marketing and medical plans.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant communication of product information.

Sales Performance and Business Growth

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets and KPIs for assigned territory.
  • Develop and implement territory business plans.
  • Identify growth opportunities in hospitals, clinics and key accounts.

Market Intelligence and Insights

  • Monitor competitor activity in Pain and CV markets.
  • Provide feedback to marketing and medical teams.
  • Support forecasting and business planning.

Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships with cardiologists, pain specialists, pharmacists and key decision-makers.
  • Manage key accounts and strategic hospital partnerships.
  • Ensure high-quality scientific detailing and customer engagement.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of medical representatives.
  • Conduct regular field coaching and performance reviews.
  • Build a high-performance and accountable sales culture.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure all activities comply with industry codes, regulations and company SOPs.
  • Maintain ethical promotion practices and pharmacovigilance compliance.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and documentation.

Academic, Experience & Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA or Advanced Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medicine or Business-related field.
  • Management and/or Account Management experience strongly recommended.
  • Minimum seven (7) years of sales experience in pharmaceutical with in-dept industry knowledge.
  • At least four (4) years in a sales leadership role preferred.
  • Experience in Pain and/or Cardiovascular therapeutic areas is an advantage.
  • Strong familiarity with the Johor healthcare and pharmaceutical market and demonstrate the ability to effectively navigate and execute within the territory.
  • Experience in analyzing complex situations, anticipating potential challenges and assessing business opportunities and risks.
  • Proven track record in managing customer relationships and driving business outcomes in a competitive environment.
  • Proficient in local language: fluency in English is an advantage.
  • Strong ability to develop and deliver innovative solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Ability to articulate a clear and differentiated value proposition to customers.
  • Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Strong business consulting skills, including problem-solving, negotiation, influencing, facilitation, active listening and project management.
  • Strong leadership in building high-performing teams.
  • Decisive and agile in complex business environments.
  • Strong analytical, strategic and financial acumen.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork mindset.
  • Works in close collaboration with Marketing, Key Accounts and Business Excellence teams to build a strong and sustainable business within Viatris.
