About the job Sales Representative (Chemicals)

A multinational specialty chemicals company with close to 50 years of excellence as one of the largest producers in Asia.

  • Job Purpose:

As Sales Representative is accountable for running Sales activities, account management, as well as necessary technical assistance to the customers. Overall objective is to produce, grow and deliver targeted business results.

  • Sales Target
  • Revenue: 8-9 million USD

b. Volume: 3500-4000 Tons/year

c. Contribution Margin: 18%

This position will be focusing on creating a business value to both the organization & the customers being part of customers team, resources, and insights, helping customers to achieve their business goals.

  • Principal Accountabilities: EHS
  • Ensure that all work undertaken is carried out in a full compliance with the organization's EHS procedures & policies, strive for continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Maintain awareness and practice of EHS procedures and standards.

Laws & Policies

  • Conduct the business activities in accordance with the the organization's practice compliance policy.
  • Stay up to date with knowledge of the relevant laws and awareness of policy.
  • Assess the implications of business activities in which this position is involved.

4. Position Roles

Accountability toward Customers:

  • Understand in-depth customers business, challenges, and key success factors.
  • Provide a solution to customers problems connecting the dot between customers problem and HPUs polyurethanes Technology and products.
  • Build, grow and strengthen a quality relationship with all key stakeholders of customers.
  • Work closely with customers to align with and capture a new business opportunity.
  • Assist customers in the buying process to make buying easy and painless.
  • Initiate and bring in a new idea and insights into the customer business.
  • Be fast and responsive to the customers needs.
  • Challenge & coach customers into a better way of doing business.
  • Demonstrate an empathy to customers pain and suggest a way to overcome an issue.
  • Mobilize the organization's supporting team & resources to assist customers.

Accountability Toward The Company

  • Assist in preparing business plans to deliver and achieve a business target (revenue, volume, CM%) or monitor AR minimizing the exposure to any financial risks.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service, TS, and Supply Chain and others related departments to bring out the right solutions, services, products, and technology to the customers at the most effective and efficient way.
  • Submit a monthly sales report.
  • Provide inputs for demand forecast accuracy (OMP).
  • Position & promote the organization positively in the eyes of Markets (customers, all stakeholders).
  • Managing the pricing

Accountability Toward Markets & Competitions

  • Monitor and report market dynamics.
  • Monitor competitor strategies, products and anticipate future competitors movements.
  • Assist in SWOT & Competition analysis together with the GM
  • Search and explore for an untapped and downstream to pursuit a new business opportunity creating a new source of growth

6. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemicals or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • 5 years sales experience in chemicals and polyurethane, additional experience application to the automotive industry would be a plus
  • Fluent in English and Malay, Mandarin or any other Asian language would be a plus
  • Willing to travel (Korea, Thailand, Indonesia etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in sales and client relationship management
  • Willing to work flexibly to entertain clients
