Sales Representative – General Trade (Malaysia)

Role Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sales Representative – General Trade to drive business growth across Malaysia. The role will be responsible for identifying, onboarding, and managing sub-distributors while expanding sales coverage and market presence within general trade channels.
The ideal candidate should possess strong distributor management capabilities, market development experience, and a passion for consumer products.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new sub-distributors across assigned territories in Malaysia.
- Develop and expand sales within general trade channels including wholesalers, traditional trade outlets, mini markets, provision stores, pharmacies, and independent retailers.
- Build strong relationships with sub-distributors and key channel partners to achieve sales targets and business objectives.
- Execute sales and distribution strategies to improve market penetration, product availability, and brand visibility.
- Monitor distributor performance, sales activities, stock levels, and market execution.
- Conduct regular market visits to identify business opportunities, competitor activities, pricing trends, and consumer insights.
- Ensure effective implementation of trade promotions, merchandising activities, and product launches.
- Collaborate with internal teams including marketing, supply chain, and operations to support business growth.
- Prepare periodic sales reports, market updates, and business development plans.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in FMCG or consumer products industry.
- Experience in general trade distribution and sub-distributor management within Malaysia is MUST.
- Strong network within household, beauty, skincare, haircare, personal care, or food channels would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of the Malaysian retail and wholesale landscape.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel extensively within assigned territories.
- Possess valid driving license and own transportation.
