Position Summary

The Sales Support Executive is a strategic role that supports our Sales and Project Management teams. The Sales Support Executive will lead and manage quotation activities, pricing analysis, customer follow-up, and internal coordination efforts to drive quoting excellence, ensure seamless project execution and timely response to business opportunities. The ideal candidate possesses strong commercial acumen, technical awareness, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently, influence stakeholders, and represent the sales function when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Manager on leading complex quoting activities , including cost modelling, margin analysis, and competitive pricing strategies for Sales/Project Manager to approve.
  • Support the Project Manager in conducting cost analysis to provide insights for strategic pricing adjustments and business direction.
  • Provide technical support for engineering related inquires. Work closely with Engineering team to communicate customer feedback and product improvement.
  • Work with Procurement Team on sourcing to ensure quoting activities is conduction smoothly and quote is submitted within lead time.
  • Work closely with Sales and Project Management Team to understand latest business direction and strategic, performance price calculation and analysis with adherence to the business strategic for quoting activities.
  • Maintain good relationship with customer from Project Management Team, Sales or Procurement. Follow up closely with customer on project bidding status, award status as well as understanding win/loss reason.
  • Assisting Project Manager to setup the new awarded project, including coordinate internal FA meeting, fit test at customer site and ensure customer NPI unit is shipped smoothly.
  • Act as a communication bridge between Sales/Project Management Site Operations, translating sales discussions into actionable operational plans and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Ensure customer accounts are well-managed and foster strong relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
  • Analyse customer behaviour through order patterns, shipment data, and forecasts, delivering performance insights to Project Management for data-driven business planning.
  • Maintain & update customer pricelists and Penang quotation board.
  • Monthly report RFQ win rate, customer sales performance, end user sales performance.
  • Represent the Project Manager in their absence, including attending internal and customer meetings.
  • Train and mentor junior sales support staff on quoting best practices, tools, and systems.
  • Proactively recommend actionable improvement plans to enhance the department's functionality and operational efficiency.
  • Understand on the requirements for a QMS, including documented informations, planning and determining process interactions.
  • Any others task assigned by the HOD from time to time
  • Job Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree.

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in Sales Support, Project Coordination, or Commercial Operations, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or packaging environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas for pricing), Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of ERP system such as Sage X3, SAP, or similar platform is an advantage.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with internal teams and customers.

  • Solid understanding of sales and operational processes, and ability to translate sales intent into execution.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across departments (sales, engineering, procurement, operations).

  • Exhibits analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, while actively mentoring junior colleagues by offering practical guidance and solutions.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to build and maintain teamwork and collaboration.

  • Possess own transportation.

  • Work location at Sungai Jawi, Penang.
