SAP ABAP BTP Lead

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP BTP Lead / Architect with 15+ years of overall experience and 12+ years of relevant SAP ABAP development experience. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in SAP BTP, ABAP on HANA, RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model), SAP S/4HANA, and cloud-native application development.
The candidate will lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade SAP solutions while collaborating with business stakeholders, functional consultants, and global delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end SAP ABAP development on SAP S/4HANA and SAP BTP platforms.
- Design and develop scalable applications using RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) and CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model).
- Build and expose APIs using OData V2/V4, REST services, and SAP Gateway.
- Develop cloud-native applications and extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Design technical solutions based on business requirements and functional specifications.
- Integrate SAP S/4HANA with SAP BTP and third-party applications.
- Develop CDS Views, AMDP, HANA-optimized applications, and performance tuning solutions.
- Perform technical architecture reviews, code reviews, and ensure SAP development best practices.
- Mentor and guide development teams on modern SAP development standards.
- Collaborate with functional consultants across FICO, MM, SD, PP, PM, and other SAP modules.
- Support system integration testing, UAT, cutover, deployment, and Hypercare activities.
- Drive solution architecture discussions and digital transformation initiatives.
Mandatory Skills
- 15+ years of IT experience with a minimum of 12+ years of relevant SAP ABAP experience.
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP on HANA.
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP.
- Extensive experience in RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model).
- Strong experience in CAPM (Cloud Application Programming Model).
- Expertise in Core ABAP, OOABAP, ALV, Enhancements, BADI, BAPI, User Exits, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms.
- Strong experience with CDS Views, AMDP, SQL Script, OData V2/V4.
- Experience developing Fiori backend services and SAP Gateway.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and extensibility.
- Experience with REST APIs, Integration Suite, and cloud integration concepts.
- Good understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform services and extensions.
- Experience in performance optimization and HANA database concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience leading technical teams and mentoring developers.
Preferred Skills
- SAP BTP Extension Suite experience.
- SAP Fiori/UI5 exposure.
- SAP Integration Suite / CPI knowledge.
