About the Role
The SAP S/4HANA Basis Support Consultant is responsible for the administration, configuration, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA systems. This role ensures the smooth operation, high availability, and performance of SAP environments, including system upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Installation and Configuration: Install and configure SAP S/4HANA systems, including the underlying database and operating system.
- System Maintenance: Perform regular system checks, updates, and patches to ensure optimal performance.
- Database Administration: Manage database tasks such as backup, recovery, system copy, and performance tuning.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless integration with other IT systems.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security measures to protect system data. Perform day-to-day AMS support tasks including user access provisioning, role maintenance, troubleshooting access issues, and responding to SAP security-related incidents and service requests. Analyze and resolve authorization errors in various SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, Fiori, BW, GRC, Cloud etc.).
- Documentation: Maintain documentation of system configurations, changes, and updates.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams to manage system migrations and ensure smooth operations.
- Monitoring: Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Training: Provide guidance and support to end users and train them as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as an SAP Basis Consultant with a strong background in focused support (AMS). Experience of SAP HANA is a MUST, preferably with SAP S/4HANA. Hands-on experience in installation and version upgrades, patching on application, OS (AIX/Linux & Windows) and database layer.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of SAP HANA technology, system installation, configuration, and performance tuning. Completion of fully cycle Basis implementations would also be preferred.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Communication: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with users and IT teams.
- Security: Understanding of SAP security, authorization concepts, and user administration. Familiarity with basic GRC concepts and tools (preferred).
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
