Job Title: Scaffolding Engineer
Client Description
The organization is a Construction Management Team operating on large-scale international project sites, specifically within sectors such as Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, or Power Plants. The company utilizes a global workforce and manages complex operations on a rotational basis.
Scope
- Department: Construction Management Team.
- Location: International project site, requiring a 9 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation.
- Core Objective: Acts as the technical authority for all scaffolding systems, including general builds and high-risk Engineered Scaffolding.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Design & Oversight: Reviews and approves complex scaffolding designs, shop drawings, and structural stability calculations for non-standard scaffolds.
- Compliance & Verification: Ensures all designs meet international standards (BS EN 12811, OSHA, AS/NZS) and validates solutions against site-specific wind and ground loads.
- Construction Coordination: Supervise scaffolding activities across all categories and aligns delivery with the overall project schedule.
- Site Inspections: Performs periodic audits to verify that physical erections match approved engineered drawings.
- Safety Leadership: Reviews Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS) and implements corrective engineering solutions for structural hazards.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in large-scale construction sites (Oil & Gas, Infrastructure, or Power Plants).
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of System Scaffold and Tube & Fitting systems.
- Engineering Skills: Ability to interpret and critique structural calculations and technical blueprints.
- Software & Standards: Familiarity with scaffold design software like Avontus or AutoCAD is preferred; comprehensive knowledge of international and safety regulations is required from Indonesia or Singapore
- Soft Skills: Fluent in English with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical personnel.
