Job Description

About the Role

Responsible to lead and manage relationship with Islamic BB's stakeholders to meet the Bank's objective and key performance indicators (KPIs). This will be achieved by monitoring and supervising tasks performed by department staff to ensure desired results in respect of quality of response and turnaround time to meet or exceed the service level agreement agreed upon. In addition, he/ she will manage and ensure risk-compliance culture is adhered to and upheld at all times to comply with internal and external compliance requirements. Support cross sell efforts and represent AmBank Islamic in all relevant BB meetings and forums. Supports and work with HOD of Islamic BB to achieve department's KPI/ targets. He/she also represents the HOD of Islamic BB at relevant meetings/ forums in his/her absence as well as supporting the administration of the department.

Responsibilities

Lead internally and work closely with internal and external customers and all stakeholders of Islamic Business Banking to:

  • Ensure yearly financial targets, budget and KPIs are achieved.
  • Project potential targets for the coming years.
  • Targets to be aligned with overall groupwide AmBank BB plan.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.
  • Identify and escalate risks inherent in particular situations or transactions.
  • Access, control, monitor and report impact of risks, franchise, regulatory or financial.
  • Conduct business and day-to-day activities contributing to a no surprise compliance culture by ensuring adherence to the Group's AML Programme, policies and procedures.
  • Support business operational control (BOC) functions (where relevant).
  • Work closely with Group BB on planning and financial targets.
  • Identify potential external customers/market segments that can cross sell to other business areas.
  • Liaise and manage all internal stakeholders involved with Islamic BB business.
  • Maintain close relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Task force/ special project involvement.
  • Represent AmBank Islamic in relevant BB meetings.
  • Communicate/ conduct briefings/ trainings/ updates on latest industry development and Islamic product and services relevant to Islamic BB.
  • Constant engagement with various stakeholders to ensure the Bank's objectives, financial targets, budget and KPIs are achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Masters/ Bachelor's Degree in Finance/ Banking/ Marketing/ Accounting/ Management/ Statistics.
  • Islamic Finance certifications from recognised institutions (IBFIM, INCEIF etc but not a must).
  • General Banking/ Credit Management certification from recognized institutions (added advantage but not a must).
  • 5 to 10 years experience in similar industry especially in customer relationship management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advance knowledge in Islamic banking product and services.

  • Islamic Finance certifications from recognized institutions (IBFIM, INCEIF etc but not a must).
