Job Summary:
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient environment for all employees, partners, and guests. This multifaceted role combines high-level security management, oversight of scheduled waste compliance, and technical facility maintenance to ensure the integrity of company property and the reliability of manufacturing equipment
Key Responsibilities
:
1. Security Management & Safety
- Develop and enforce security policies to protect people, property, and proprietary information.
- Coordinate operations with public law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency agencies.
- Lead emergency management efforts, including responding to medical emergencies, fire alarms, and potential threats.
- Supervise security staff, overseeing hiring, training, work assignments, and performance evaluations.
- Conduct internal investigations into security breaches or policy violations and prepare detailed reports for management.
2. Environmental Compliance (Scheduled Waste)
- Act as the Competent Person for scheduled waste management, ensuring full adherence to the Environmental Quality (Scheduled Wastes) Regulations 2005.
- Identify, classify, and manage the storage, packaging, and labelling of scheduled wastes.
- Develop strategies for waste reduction, reuse, recycling, and proper disposal.
- Maintain rigorous record-keeping and reporting to ensure complete legal compliance.
3. Facility & Equipment Maintenance
- Collaborate with the Facility Officer to supervise the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and manufacturing equipment.
- Design and implement preventive maintenance strategies to reduce costly breakdowns and improve equipment reliability.
- Diagnose mechanical/electrical breakdown problems and manage emergency repairs.
- Plan and schedule both routine and unplanned maintenance tasks while managing the inventory of tools and consumables.
- Ensure all statutory and legal certifications for equipment are met through timely inspections by relevant bodies.
4. Corporate Compliance & Values
- Ensure all actions and direct reports align with the company's Code of Ethics and Conduct.
- Assist in ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits and maintain all necessary documentation.
Requirements
:
- Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Alternatively, Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 5 - 7 years in factory operations (machinery, electrical, and HVAC)
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory security capacity.
- Deep understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems and draft technical manuals/work instructions.
- Prior experience as a Competent Fire Safety or Health & Safety member is highly advantageous.
- Excellent verbal and written English skills.
- Proven supervisory and motivational skills to lead a diverse team.
- Strong analytical abilities and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Resilience to work under pressure and a willingness to perform standby duties.
