Job Purpose
The Security Technologist role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting security systems and equipment. This may include alarms, access control systems, video surveillance systems, and other security technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and enhancement of Physical Security Systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Turnstile, and Face Recognition Systems.
- Develop, integrate, document, and enforce security standards, procedures, and controls across new and existing projects.
- Ensure security requirements are embedded during the planning, design, renovation, and development stages of facilities and infrastructure projects.
- Review and validate system integration capabilities, technology solutions, and security risks associated with new and existing environments.
- Manage tendering, procurement, vendor evaluation, and contract engagements for Security Technology solutions in line with industry best practices.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security monitoring, reporting, intrusion detection, incident response, and escalation processes.
- Provide technical and operational security advisory support to business and support units.
- Research and drive security enhancement initiatives by adopting cost-effective and industry-leading practices.
- Establish and maintain security compliance frameworks, governance standards, and security awareness culture across the organisation.
- Represent the organisation in engagements with authorities, industry associations, security councils, and external stakeholders.
- Review and maintain security policies, procedures, and practices related to personnel, assets, information, and operational security.
- Guide and coach facility security coordinators on guard services, security systems, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors on system maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades, testing, and enhancement activities.
- Act as the subject matter expert for regulatory security compliance and governance matters.
- Support crisis management planning and provide security input for fit-out and infrastructure projects.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Physical Security Systems, Security Technology, or Infrastructure Security management.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV, Access Control Systems, Turnstile Systems, Face Recognition Systems, and integrated security platforms.
- Experience in managing security system implementation, integration, maintenance, and enhancement projects.
- Familiarity with security standards, compliance requirements, risk assessment, and incident management practices.
- Experience handling vendor management, tender evaluation, procurement, and contract coordination.
- Good understanding of infrastructure, networking, and system integration related to security technologies.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with internal stakeholders, external vendors, authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Good communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
- Professional certifications in security, project management, or related disciplines would be an added advantage.
