Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Handle full set accounts, including month-end closing, preparation of monthly management reports, fixed asset schedules, intercompany reconciliations, project accounting, and profit recognition (in accordance with MFRS 15).
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, in compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Monitor reporting timelines and ensure timely submission for audit, tax, and SSM compliance.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and company secretary to ensure all statutory filings and audit deliverables are completed within deadlines.
  • Ensure completeness and proper documentation of supporting documents for audit and internal reviews.
  • Prepare and review accounting documents including payment vouchers, debit/credit notes, journal vouchers, and bank reconciliations for Manager approval.
  • Perform project cost monitoring, comparing budgeted development cost vs actual cost incurred, including certification tracking, variation orders, and accruals.
  • Monitor project cash flow, including progress billing collection, claims from contractors/consultants, and loan drawdowns.
  • Support annual budget and forecast preparation, including project-level projections and financial planning.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses as required by the Finance Manager or senior management.
  • Ensure effective internal controls, including compliance with company's SOPs and segregation of duties.

Requirement:

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/MIA) are an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in property development and/or construction.
  • Experience in audit, especially in public listed companies, is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with IFCA or other property development accounting systems is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, good organisational skills, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, yet a strong team player with good communication skills.
