Job Description

Senior Accountant

We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to oversee finance operations, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial analysis for our Malaysia business unit. This role provides critical financial insights, ensures regulatory adherence, and supports strategic decision-making in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting, Control & Compliance

  • Oversee outsourced finance service providers and ensure SLA compliance.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial controls and ensure reporting integrity.
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile financial statements in alignment with Malaysia and international accounting standards.
  • Lead audit and tax, coordinate with external consultants, and ensure timely regulatory submissions.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks while ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.

Financial Planning & Management

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
  • Perform variance analyses, scenario modelling, and sensitivity assessments.
  • Provide KPI-driven insights and business recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop financial models to improve forecasting accuracy and cost analysis.
  • Optimize cost structures and profitability metrics for operational efficiency.

Treasury Operations

  • Maintain cash flow forecasts, ensuring liquidity sufficiency.
  • Manage loan operations, including compliance, drawdowns, and repayments.
  • Oversee banking relationships and optimize cash management strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
  • Support treasury-related regulatory filings and financial disclosures.

Process & System Improvement

  • Enhance finance processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support system implementations, automating reporting and reconciliation.
  • Document SOPs to ensure operational consistency and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive cost savings and workflow optimization.

Ideal Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, CA or CPA.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial operations and reporting. Industry experience in real estate and familiarity with Oracle NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of Malaysia's accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
