The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready accounting records across all entities, supporting group consolidation, statutory compliance, and reliable financial reporting. The role ensures disciplined execution of accounting policies, internal controls, and closing processes, forming the technical backbone of the finance function.
This position bridges day-to-day accounting operations and management reporting, providing well-documented, consistent financial data to enable effective oversight. The role also supports process improvement and system optimisation to enhance accounting efficiency and scalability as the business grows.
Group & Company Level Accounting
- Prepare consolidation of financial results across subsidiaries and business units.
- Manage company-level accounting operations to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment across the group.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and present consolidated financial statements and management reports for the group.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Accounting Operations
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance and fixed asset management.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Internal Controls & Governance
- Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control frameworks to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial information.
Audit & Compliance Coordination
- Act as the key liaison with external auditors.
- Coordinate annual audit processes and ensure timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
Financial Analysis & Strategic Insights
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial presentations with insightful analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Support Management in strategic decision-making and business planning.
Monthly & Departmental Reporting
- Drive transparency and alignment across the organization by managing timely and structured monthly departmental reporting.
- Ensure financial data is clearly communicated to relevant stakeholders.
Metrics, Dashboards & Performance Tracking
- Collaborate with finance and data analytics teams to develop key metrics, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Support performance monitoring, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Partner with finance team and department heads to develop annual budgets and rolling financial forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, highlighting risks and opportunities.
Process Improvement & Optimization
- Identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness of the accounting function and systems.
- Education & Cerification: Degree in Accounting / Finance or related field. MIA membership, CPA / ACCA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 year in a group consolidation role.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in accounting software. Advanced Excel skills are essential.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of MPERS/MFRS standards, financial reporting, and consolidation processes.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
