Senior Accounts Executive (Shared Services)
About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Executive to join our Shared Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and providing comprehensive accounting, taxation, indirect tax (SST/GST), payroll, and company secretarial support services.
This role offers excellent exposure to a diverse range of industries and opportunities to work closely with clients, regulatory authorities, and professional service teams.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Manage a portfolio of clients and ensure timely completion of accounting and reporting requirements. Prepare and review full sets of accounts in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Maintain General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and bank reconciliations. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports, including cash flow forecasts and budget analysis. Monitor and reconcile balance sheet accounts and control accounts. Assist clients in financial planning, budgeting, and performance monitoring.
Taxation & Indirect Tax Compliance
Prepare and coordinate corporate tax computations and tax filings. Assist in tax planning and compliance matters. Prepare and review SST/GST returns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Liaise with tax authorities and tax consultants on tax-related matters.
Company Secretarial Support
Coordinate routine company secretarial matters, including preparation of resolutions and statutory documents. Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and maintenance of corporate records. Liaise with company secretaries, regulatory authorities, and clients on compliance matters.
Client Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Act as the primary point of contact for accounting and compliance matters. Provide professional advice and support to clients on financial and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, and other professional service providers.
General Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with internal policies, professional standards, and statutory requirements. Assist managers and directors on special assignments and ad-hoc projects. Support process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Professional Accounting Qualification or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, shared services, accounting firms, outsourcing, or professional services environments. Experience in handling full sets of accounts and client portfolios. Exposure to SST/GST, corporate taxation, payroll, and company secretarial matters will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards. Good understanding of Malaysian tax and statutory compliance requirements. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client portfolios effectively. High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
