Key Objective

  • To assist the Actuarial department in the analysis of business and claims performance, preparation of actuarial datasets and reserving of insurance liabilities. Major duties and responsibilities
  • Assist with the analysis of claims experience, business performance and financial condition.
  • Assist with the monitoring and analysis of claims experience against reserving and pricing assumptions.
  • Assist with the preparation of the actuarial datasets and maintenance of reporting templates.
  • Assist with the reserving of insurance liabilities and the preparation of reserving report for local statutory purposes.
  • Assist with the preparation of financial condition report and IFRS 17 when necessary.
  • Coordinate with different departments to understand and gain insight into the observed experience.

Experience

  • Fresh graduate or less than 1 year working experience will be considered for entry role.
  • At least 2 years of actuarial working experience for Senior Actuarial Analyst role
  • Hands-on data manipulation experience
  • Technical experience in monitoring and claims experience analysis
  • Technical experience in the reserving of insurance liabilities
  • Experience in the coordination of information from and the communication of results to relevant stakeholders
  • Candidates from pricing background with strong data handling and portfolio monitoring experience are also encouraged to apply

Skills

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Proficiency in data manipulation applications such as SQL, SAS
  • Ability to think critically and work autonomously
  • Ability to communicate the results of his/her technical analysis verbally and in written form
  • Positive work attitude with focus on continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Relevant undergraduate degree or higher, e.g. Actuarial, Computer Science, quantitative based.
  • In the process of taking exams to become a qualified actuary.
