Job Description

Role Summary

The role will lead the Liberty International Insurance APAC (LII APAC) Actuarial Solutions team. The role interprets and influences the organisational and business unit strategic vision to prioritise, design, develop and continuously improve solutions that enable critical Actuarial and Data Science (ADSS) capabilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance strategic vision and roadmaps for ADSS solutions that enable LII APAC business unit, driving continuous improvement in processes and delivery.
  • Lead the creation of efficient, scalable solutions that accelerate speed to market while ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant technical standards.
  • Champion customer-centric priorities, ensuring internal and external stakeholders benefit from actionable, high quality data insights.
  • Influence the strategic direction of actuarial initiatives across diverse APAC markets, products, and perspectives.
  • Support efforts to build ADSS capabilities, partnering with ADSS peers across GRS to define, champion, and execute continuous improvement efforts, tailoring to meet the unique needs of the business.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of relevant actuarial approaches and assumptions, adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and nurture key technical actuarial talent and drive improvement in the overall technical ADSS capability of the business.
  • Support or lead the provision of other ADSS capabilities as needed including but not limited to Pricing, Legal Entity, Data Science and US GAAP Reserving.
  • Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role.

Role Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years experience in the insurance industry
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees (Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science etc.) strongly preferred.
  • Relevant insurance designations (ACAS/FCAS, AIAA/FIAA, AIA/AFA, FIA/FFA) desirable but not a requirement .
  • Strong actuarial and data engineering expertise, with hands-on experience in actuarial solution design, development and execution. Experience in IFRS17, Risk Based Capital, Reserving is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Strategic mindset and demonstrated relationship building ability
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, insurance lines and markets
  • Good knowledge of insurance operations and ability to engage with multi-functional teams
  • Proven track record of delivery with a focus on enablement through building efficient, high quality and repeatable processes and systems.
  • Understanding of how to work effectively in global and matrix organizations
  • Experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments e.g. working in NoSQL implementation, ETL, Java, scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell), and the Hadoop stack is desirable.
