About The Role

Our Malaysia Tech Center is advancing cross-border payments, SME digitalisation, and next-generation financial infrastructure, supporting global platforms such as Alipay+, Antom, WorldFirst, and Bettr.

As an AI Engineer, you will own end-to-end product engineering delivery in an AI-native environment. AI is deeply embedded in how we clarify requirements, design solutions, build software, alongside how we test, deploy, and continuously improve our products—it is not merely an occasional coding aid. You will collaborate with AI agents throughout the delivery lifecycle while applying sound engineering judgment, retaining full accountability for the correctness, security, reliability, and business outcomes of everything delivered.

Your Mission

  1. Own complex or cross-domain initiatives, turning ambiguous business needs into reliable production outcomes.
  2. Design and evolve critical backend services and integrations, balancing security, scalability, with reliability, and maintainability.
  3. Define quality and release approaches, resolve complex system outages or degradations, while driving improvements that prevent recurrence.
  4. Establish and evolve AI-native engineering workflows, guardrails, and feedback loops that improve team delivery speed and software quality.
  5. Guide other engineers through technical decisions and reviews while coordinating dependencies and risks across product teams and business partners.

Minimum Qualification

  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Strong programming and system-design skills, with a record of owning complex backend systems or major product capabilities.
  3. Proven ability to deliver complex software from ambiguous requirements through production operation and continuous improvement.
  4. Experience guiding other engineers to make sound technical trade-offs, and driving delivery across teams or business domains.

Preferred Qualification

  1. Experience establishing AI-native engineering workflows, guardrails, and evaluation practices at team level.
  2. Experience defining quality strategies, test automation, release controls, and production feedback loops.
  3. Sound understanding of distributed systems and high-concurrency design principles; direct high-concurrency production experience is not mandatory.
