Develop and maintain data governance framework, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations, industry best practices, and internal risk appetite.
Define and document data domains, ownership, stewardship, and governance processes (e.g., issue management, metadata, data quality, data lifecycle) to support clarity and accountability.
Drive and monitor the Data Stewardship Program, providing guidance to stewards and ensuring effective adoption and continuous improvement across the Group.
Promote consistent adoption of data governance practices across all entities, addressing gaps and ensuring compliance and maturity uplift region-wide.
Execute training and awareness programs, developing communication materials and learning artefacts to embed governance culture.
Conduct governance assessments for projects, reviewing requests, advising teams, and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate data-related risks, support operational risk management, and embed governance practices into workflows.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer/Data Science, Business, or related fields; relevant certifications (CIMP, CDMP) are an advantage.
Possess experience in data-related roles (data governance, data management, architecture, or analytics), preferably in large-scale or regulated organizations.
Proven ability to design and implement governance frameworks, policies, processes, and stewardship programs.
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., BNM, PDPA, MAS), ideally within the financial sector.
Solid knowledge of data governance principles (DAMA/DMBoK), metadata, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with ability to operationalize governance concepts.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of influencing senior executives and driving change.
Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to balance strategic priorities with tactical execution in a collaborative, agile environment.
