Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our organisation as a Senior Analyst, Data Governance.
This role is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous enhancement of the Group's data governance framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. The incumbent will play a key role in driving governance adoption across the organisation, strengthening data stewardship practices, and embedding robust data management standards across business and technology functions.
The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the Group to promote a strong data governance culture and ensure effective management of data as a strategic asset.
Key Responsibilities
Data Governance Framework & Reporting
- Support the development, maintenance, and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures
- Assist in defining governance KPIs, metrics, and dashboards for management reporting
- Prepare regular updates on data governance initiatives and progress
Data Domains & Operating Model
- Support the definition of data domains, ownership, stewardship, and RACI structures
- Design and refine governance processes including data quality, metadata, issue management, and data lifecycle
- Contribute to the enhancement of the Data Governance Operating Model
Data Stewardship Programme
- Assist in the rollout and continuous improvement of the data stewardship programme
- Provide guidance to data stewards on roles, responsibilities, and governance practices
- Monitor adoption and effectiveness of stewardship activities
Governance Adoption & Enablement
- Support the implementation and enforcement of data governance practices across the Group
- Identify and address gaps in governance adoption across countries and business units
- Drive consistency and maturity uplift in governance practices
Training & Awareness
- Support the development and delivery of training and awareness programmes
- Develop communication materials, guidelines, and learning resources
Project Governance & Advisory
- Review project requests and coordinate governance assessments
- Conduct data governance assessments for projects and initiatives
- Provide advisory support to ensure compliance with governance requirements
Risk & Compliance
- Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Technology teams to identify and mitigate data risks
- Support operational risk management activities including issue tracking and resolution
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to embed governance practices into daily operations
- Promote awareness and adoption of data governance best practices
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer/Data Science, Business, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data governance, data management, data analytics, or related roles
- Experience in implementing or supporting data governance frameworks and programmes
- Good understanding of data governance principles (e.g., DAMA/DMBoK, data quality, metadata, data lifecycle)
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., BNM, PDPA, MAS), preferably within financial services
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIMP, CDMP) are an added advantage
- Experience working in large-scale or regulated environments is preferred
