Job Description

Purpose of Job

This role replaces the previous Sustainable Finance Engagement Manager and continues to support WWF-Malaysia's sustainable finance and conservation finance work.

The position focuses on research, analytical support, guidance development and coordination across sustainable finance initiatives. Compared to the previous role, the scope places greater emphasis on technical research, framework localisation and delivery support, while still contributing to stakeholder engagement, capacity building and thought leadership.

Key Outputs

  • Research and analytical outputs supporting sustainable finance initiatives
  • Guidance notes, tools, and reference materials adapted to the Malaysian context
  • Presentations, workshops, and capacity-building materials
  • Thought leadership outputs such as reports, articles and briefing notes
  • Technical inputs to funding proposals and donor-related deliverables
  • Well-coordinated project documentation, tracking and reporting

Major Activities

  1. Support the development and delivery of industry presentations, workshops and capacity-building sessions for corporates and financial institutions.
  2. Conduct research on sustainable finance methodologies, guidance documents, best practices and global case studies relevant to programme priorities.
  3. Support the development of guidance notes and tools for corporates and financial institutions, including localisation of global frameworks to the Malaysian context.
  4. Provide analytical and research support for presentations, workshops and other capacity-building initiatives.
  5. Contribute to thought leadership outputs, including reports, articles and briefing notes linked to programme deliverables and initiatives (e.g. TNFD, IKI).
  6. Support research and drafting for funding proposals, including background research, technical inputs and contributions to proposal narratives and budgets.
  7. Provide administrative and project coordination support, including tracking deliverables and timelines, consolidating inputs from internal and external stakeholders, preparing progress and activity updates, managing documentation, and supporting internal approval and clearance processes.
  8. Ensure that all assigned work is delivered in line with WWF-Malaysia's policies, procedures and quality standards.

Specifications

  1. Degree in finance, economics, sustainability, environmental studies, development studies, or a related field.
  2. Relevant experience in sustainable finance, ESG research, conservation finance, policy research, or related work.
  3. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information clearly and accurately.
  4. Good technical writing skills and experience contributing to reports, guidance documents, or analytical outputs.
  5. Experience supporting workshops, presentations, or capacity-building activities.
  6. Good organisational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  7. Able to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively within a team.
  8. Good written and spoken English; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
  9. Proficient in standard office software and tools for research, documentation, and presentations.

Salary Range

RM 5,000 - RM 7,000
