About the Role
The Senior Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) and payroll solutions to support end‑to‑end HR and payroll operations. This role requires strong functional knowledge across the HR lifecycle and payroll processes. The Senior Analyst provides Level 2 support for complex HR and payroll system issues and works closely with HR, Payroll, Technology, business stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure data accuracy, system compliance, and continuous improvement.
This role involves key responsibilities related to the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Workday HCM and payroll solutions.
Responsibilities
System Configuration & Maintenance
- Configure, test, and maintain Workday HCM modules (Core HCM, Recruiting, Talent & Performance Management, Time Tracking, Absence, Compensation, Benefits) and payroll system integration
- Ensure accurate calculation of hours, overtime, and leave balances for payroll handoff
- Coordinate Workday bi‑annual releases, including regression testing
Project Coordination & Business Analysis
- Support small to mid-sized HRIS projects (e.g., new module rollouts, enhancements) from requirements to deployment
- Gather requirements from stakeholders, document processes, and recommend system solutions
Level 2 Support
- Serve as escalation point for HRIS system issues beyond Level 1 support
- Troubleshoot and resolve with HR, Technology, or vendors
Data Integrity & Reporting
- Develop and maintain Workday reports and dashboards for HR and payroll stakeholders
- Perform regular data audits across HR and payroll data to support compliance
Enhancements & Optimization
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend configuration changes or automation
Security & Access Management
- Support security role architecture and user access assignments under manager governance
- Maintain role assignments, perform access reviews, and document segregation of duties
Integration & Release Monitoring
- Monitor basic integrations (Core Connectors); escalate complex issues to vendor/IT
- Coordinate Workday bi‑annual release testing and deployment
Qualifications
Required
- Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent
- 4–7 years of HRIS experience, with hands-on Workday HCM configuration
- Experience with Workday Time Tracking or Absence
- Experience with Workday EIB for data loads and mass updates
- Familiarity with Malaysia payroll statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, PCB)
- Experience supporting security role administration or access reviews
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred
- Workday certification (Time Tracking, Absence, Talent/Performance, or Core HCM)
- Experience with Workday Core Connectors or integration monitoring
- Exposure to Singapore payroll (CPF, IRAS), or other regions. Multiple region exposure will be favorably considered.
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industry
- Experience coordinating release management or regression testing
