The Role
Our client is a Hong Kong-headquartered financial technology company specialising in digital securities, regulated capital-markets infrastructure and blockchain-enabled investment solutions. With operations across Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Labuan, the company is expanding its technology team in Malaysia and is looking for an experienced Senior Application Developer.
The successful candidate will develop, maintain and modernise internal business applications using VB.NET. You will also work closely with business users to understand workflows and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance applications using VB.NET and .NET Framework.
- Maintain and modernise legacy WinForms applications.
- Design and optimise MS SQL Server databases, queries and stored procedures.
- Develop and support WCF services and system integrations.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide production support.
- Work with business users to understand requirements and improve workflows.
- Use AI and automation to reduce manual and repetitive processes.
- Write clean, maintainable and well-documented code.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on application development experience.
- Strong experience with VB.NET and .NET Framework.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Windows Forms (WinForms) applications.
- Solid MS SQL Server experience, including stored procedures, database design and query optimisation.
- Experience with WCF services or web-service integrations.
- Experience maintaining and modernising legacy applications.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code or similar.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and communication skills.
